    Buffer tubes, buffers and springs

I just placed an order and now thinking "did I order the correct parts?"

I'm putting together an ar308 and here is what I got and just ordered.

    Ace Skeleton Stock
    DPMS A2 308 Buffer
    AR 308 Rifle Length Spring

I have a DPMS bcg and barrel. The barrel is a rifle length gas system. I also have an adjustable gas block.

Correct set up? Is there a sticky or online resource for proper lengths, springs, buffers?

    Thanks

    Seems right.
You need a rifle-length 308 buffer and a rifle length 308 spring to use with a standard AR-15 rifle length receiver extension that is used by the ACE stock.

Thanks Randall. This is my first build and I'm ignorant about a lot of things in regards to the ar308. Could you please answer a couple of questions for me?

      I ordered this handguard.

      I have this barrel

      Will this barrel nut work?
Shop rifle parts (2,709) at Brownells, including barrels, stocks, triggers, and bolt carriers to customize, repair, or upgrade your rifle’s performance.

One more question. I have a dpms bcg with no forward assist groves. I bought a forward assist knob and spring to put in my aero m5 upper to fill the hole. I understand it won't assist the bcg to go forward. I read somewhere a forward assist is not necessary for a 308. Is this true?

      Thanks again.

the tube comes with a nut.

And forward assist is not needed on any properly functioning rifle but if it fails to go home.... then you would need a forward assist

I just read the description and see that it comes with a barrel nut. It must be inside the handguard because I don't remember a seperate part. I'm going to go look at it now. Sorry to be dumb about this. I was watching a Brownells video on how to install a barrel and saw them install the barrel nut and thought "I didn't order one."

          Thanks
