    Bluing

What would it cost to blue the barrel and receiver for a Browning A5? I plan on blasting it myself.

I am going to try to clean it up with steel wool first and see how it looks. If it still does not look too good, then I might have it blued or maybe even cerakoted.

What year? and is it a Belgium or Japan A5?

My recommendation in Widwest gun works, they know these shot guns inside and out,

"Blasting yourself" sounds like a very bad idea if it's a sought after A5

It was manufactured in 1962. But I do not know where it was manufactured.

Pre 76 is a Belgium gun, Is it a magnum receiver?? Gage??

        Condition???

Some Auto 5's go for big coin and some are little more then a novelty

I'd suggest a slow rust blue if you have the time and space to do it. You'd be much happier with the results.

If it is a family keeper, then do as you please...

The first "old" pistol I had blued was a disappointment to me... the finish looked more like blue tinted nail polish that the 80 year old colt bluing...

To answer your question, bluing, if done right, is not cheap....

I have never heard of a smith sand blasting a firearm before bluing.... Parkerizing yes... bluing... no...

It is a 12 gauge, non magnum. It is a Light Twelve. It is not a family gun. I picked it up cheap. The reason I brought up blasting, is it has some light rust issues. I inquired about the bluing in case when I steel wool and the rust does not come clean.

Well at least it's not a highly collectible one.
