Can someone make me a taller front sight?

    Hello,

I have a French BERTHIER rifle that shoots way high at 100 yards. The front sight is very short and I am maxed out on elevation on my rear sight.

Any recommendations on someone machining a taller front sight ???

    Merci !!!

Stupid easy fix, if you want permanent then keep asking...

Coffee stir placed over post and trimmed to length, bang.

How far are you off? What ammo? Is your grouping still good at 100 yards still being shot high?

          Wait a second...

"The front sight is very short and I am maxed out on elevation on my rear sight."

Your rear sight should be at lowest elevation not maxed out.

+1 Maybe he means he's all the way down in the rear...
Other than the massive popularity of the 9mm Parabellum round, the metric system never really caught on here...

Sorry, Guys......Been swamped at work lately.

Yes, I cant go any lower on the rear sight. My only option is a taller front sight. Looks like an easy piece to reproduce with the proper tooling and know-how.

Similar, I fashioned a small V shaped piece of sheet metal (could use plastic I suppose) and epoxied it on top of the front sight, then filed to match the contour and height requirement. Most military mausers have the same problem--250/300 yd zero.

A picture of front sight would help with making suggestions for a possible fix.
