I contacted DD, and they told me to check back "next year" because they might "do a run" on them. (Knuckle heads).

I've installed these rails using a strap wrench, but the strap is a bit wide, and I've destroyed a few straps as they get thrashed making contact with the quad rails. The nut is constantly getting loose on these, so they have not seen much use. I completely removed one of them from a rifle until I can locate the proper wrench.

Yes, I've emailed DD, and asked them to provide me with the UPC number or wrench number so that I might track down a wrench. (No response; knuckle heads) It's not that complicated, it's just a spanner wrench. Okay, I'll shut this down before I go on a DD rant. If anyone knows where I can locate the proper wrench, please let me know. These poor things (and the rifles) are getting dusty.

Looks like a spanner wrench could fit that too...I had to buy one special for a handguard I recently installed so you're not the only one having to find the right tool just to install handguards....

I would think that that a stamped out 10-buck wrench would be included by DD, or at least offered for sale given that their special stuff requires a special wrench. (Knuckle heads).
That's exactly what I had to do for mine, I took a spanner wrench and had to shave off some to get it to fit but it did work very well - only problem was finding a metal pipe to add to the handle so that I had some more leverage when using the wrench to tighten down the barrel nut.

That's NOT the one he needs.
The one he needs is the 4th wrench from the top left corner in my AR wrenches picture:

Technically, the special wrench tightens the handguard nut to the handguard as the barrel nut is sandwiched between them.
This is the same design as Armalite and was also copied by KAC, Larue and others.

Give it one last try with the strap wrench, but before you do, throw all the parts in the freezer for 20-30 minutes. Torque it down quick, once they get up to room temperature, they should snug up nice and tight, just don't make any shooting trips to the north pole.
