I'm looking for recommendations of who I should use to put an IonBond/DLC finish on one of my pistols.
1st off, am I correct in thinking IonBond is just a trademarked name and DLC is just the generic version of this same finish?
As for IonBond, I spoke with two shops who are apparently the only two "authorized" IonBond finishers: Springer Precision (so overloaded they aren't accepting new jobs) and Club Custom Guns (who I have a good feeling about). That's about all of the "authorized" finishers I found. Are there others? Is anyone familiar with Club Custom Guns?
As for DLC, I'm a little overwhelmed looking through all the many, many DLC finishers out there, and finding precious few solid recommendations on their work. Are you a gunsmith offering DLC finishing or would you provide a few recommendations on top-notch DLC finishers please? It'd be much appreciated.
