Galil muzzle brake question

[nick]

Gentlemen,

Since my Galil is featureless, I need to find a muzzle brake for it. Blackthrorne(yeah, I know, but they're one of the few sources of all things Galil) sells these two muzzle brakes, and I happen to have them in my parts bin. Now, my question is: are they muzzle brakes or flash hiders? Blackthorne calls them muzzle brakes, but I'm not sure about that. So, what say you? Muzzle brakes, compensators, or evil flash hiders?

what ever the manufacturer calls it that what it is

Well, this is a seller, not a manufacturer, and I've no idea what the manufacturer calls them.

In general, any design with large openings on the sides and a large opening on the end and no baffles is a flash suppressor as it draws air into the device to extinguish the flames.
The majority of the gasses/flames exit the front of the flash suppressor.

In general, muzzle brakes will have multiple baffles with a hole just larger than the bullet diameter and the exit hole of the muzzle device will also be close to bullet diameter.
The majority of the gasses/flames exit the sides of the muzzle brake.
