Hello, putting together a 1911 govt model...im having an issue with the hammer and beavertail. Without the beavertail hammer functions well, but when I install the beavertail on I dont have enough clearence to pull the hammer back. Im using a 1911 Bl Valu-Line Hammer by wilson combat and a Wilson Combat Drop-In Beavertail Grip Safety, Blue 429BG for 1911 Government. Any advice

I just installed the Wilson Combat deluxe commander hammer, deluxe sear and Beavertail grip. The deluxe hammer and sear come factory polished, that's mainly why I got them instead of the value line parts. They dropped in very well and I only had to modify/file the angle on the end of the Beavertail grip leg that contacts the trigger. Other than that, it all dropped in and works excellent.Comment

You have incompatible parts.
You need a commander style hammer to work with that grip safety.
The commander spur is shorter than the spur on the hammer you bought.

You could also bob some of the spur off of your existing hammer until it works.Last edited by ar15barrels; 06-11-2015, 9:49 PM.Randall Rausch

Since your other posts asked for help with the rudius frame I will say it again, check your holes. I would say that one of your holes are off and that is why you are having fitting problems. He had stated that the original parts did not operate properly, so to say that it is a mismatched parts problem does not address the underlying problem.Comment

Look at post #3
"I tried the original hammer and beavertail and it the same results"
Also check his other post where he has issues with the beaver tail hitting the frame...
