Aluminum Muzzle brake for Rem 700

I need a muzzle brake for my M700 in 308. My 55yo shoulder cannot handle the recoil. The ones I like are over $100, but I found one on eBay. Only thing it is made of 7075-T7 tempered aluminum. They say that they are lasting 8000 rds of .223 and 2300 rds of .308. Anyone have experience with aluminum brakes? Price is only $45.

I have little to no experience with an aluminum muzzle brake, but isn't there the possibility that pairing the two different metals could cause problems for the barrel in the long run?

If the muzzle brake is an effective design it wont last for very long if it's made from aluminum, no matter the alloy mix is. Not only will the pressure cause cracking, the aluminum baffles will be burnt away quickly.

I install them on 700's almost weekly.

Nathan's are both longer and more expensive.

Well for the money they are not a bad deal, the ones I've seen show up here are rough as a cobb, but you need to turn them to fit anyway so they'd be rough as a cobb after you machined them anyway.

I'm Bias too cause i have my own boutique design but thats just me.



I need to figure out a way to make these faster so i can sell them at a lower price. Maybe farm out the work to a CNC shop.

I can't blame anyone for not wanting a $200- $300 brake

I have been using Harrell's muzzle brakes for 15 years, they are inexpensive ($30.00-$45.00). They are good quality and made of stainless steel. I have no interest in using any other muzzle brakes. I have one on my .300 Win. Mag. and it feels like the recoil is reduced to a .308. I also have one on a 6mmbr, and it feels like the recoil is reduced to a .223, which enables me to spot my shots through my rifle scope.
