Hey guys i was trying to figure this out, if you build an AK from a parts kit, but configure it to be a "sporting rifle" meaning no pistol grip or flash hider and 10 rd mag, do you still have to use the US parts for the compliance or since its a sporting configuration is 922r null?

Not going to pass unless you find a receiver that does not have a magwell capable of accepting regular AK mags also.

more hassle than it's worth. there are very few advantages to avoiding 922(r). better off just playing along. it only becomes a prob. when u.s. parts are not readily available, ak's have an abundance. if on a budget, shop for used or trades.
