Fitting a Timney Trigger in 80% lower

Building a few AR15s from 80% lowers, one one my lowers won't allow a Timney 3lb trigger to fit. Depth is good, but I can only get the fire group pins to up when the hammer is halfway up, the hammer is rubbing on the front of the trigger pocket.
Am I screwed? Fire group pin holes too far forward? Can I take more material of the front of the trigger pocket? Will the hammer still hit the firing pin like it's supposed too? Pretty sure a standard fire control group would fit fine, but I really like the drop in Timney trigger.

The hammer will likely hit the firing pin. Sounds like you need to extend that pocket closer to the bolt catch. Got pics?

Clearance the front wall of the fire control pocket to fit.

Sounds like you need to extend that pocket closer to the bolt catch.

No need to thin out the TOP part of the fire control pocket near the bolt catch.
Only the BOTTOM part by the hammer needs to be clearanced.

Thanks, took a dremmel to it and was able to get the space I needed.

It probably took more time to find your dremel, choose what cutter to use and install the cutter than it actually did to make the little clearance that you needed.

Ive had to dremel an 80% a lil further to get a timney to fit. Go slow, check often and you should be fine

Do not go thinner than .096" on your wall thickness between your fire control pocket and the front edge of your bolt lock slot...The drop-in trigger modules
like the Timney, CMC, and others will need a perfectly squared and In-Spec. FCP for proper functioning...For a tighter than normal FCP like those than can
occur when finishing a 80% lower, a dremel with a sanding drum can serve for a quick solution to a tightly fitted FCP and a drop-in trigger module.
