    Ares Armor lowers..

Not bashing, just stating my observations. ive recently done four of their lowers (3 of the gen 2's with the RTL pocket and one of their square looking billets).

All four of the selector detent pin holes have been off. and by off I mean:
with the lower orientated so the receiver extension threads are facing towards you, the hole is so close to the center line that the FCG pocket collided with that dentent hole and bisected it.

at first I thought it was my Jig but then I did two more lowers, one no name forged one and the other was a TM forged; no issues.

Has anyone else had this issue?

Post a picture of the lower, so that the lens is centered over the selector detent hole and the lower receiver is upside down on the table with the camera straight above it.

    Sorta like this:

Barrel, sight and trigger work on most pistols and shotguns.
    Most work performed while-you-wait.

I'm interested to find out as well because I was going to buy one just to try a different vendor and compare.

I've just finished putting two of their lowers together and they function perfect. I will buy more in the future.

Very interesting. Seeing as TM makes the lowers that Ares sells.

i have had this happen SO SO SO SO MANY TIMES WITH ARES LOWERS!!! i thought it was my jig at first, then i got myself a QUALITY lower and omg that safety detent hole thing was way more centered and away from where the fire control pocket cut is.... not to mention my bolt catch hole was crooked, everything was fubar... never again for ares... $45 lower is a $45 lower for a reason

                    mrwetwork is 100% correct.

We do not make a single thing that Ares sells.

Good to hear...I would hate to have to put TM on my do not buy list.

2 posts above your post is Nathan from TM (Tactical Machining).
They don't make lowers for Ares.

TM is the one everybody tries to copy. There quality is hard to beat.
Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.
I really miss the good old Pomona Gun Shows.
