    SoCal handgun class(es)

I was looking for potential handgun courses to take at some point in the future. I've shot handguns for a while, but no training, just taught by my father so would be taking a 101 or equivillent class. I found this place International Tactical Training Seminar that is at Angeles I believe. I found another one a while ago but for the life of me can't remember, it was St. something

Anyone have experience with International Tactical Training Seminar?

Just finished handgun 3 last weekend. All the trainers are active and former LAPD SWAT. Safety is held in highest regard. Handgun 1 is all class on Day 1 and all range on Day two. Towards the end of the day on day 2 you will be able to hit at 50 yds. I can't say enough about the training and staff.

Unfortunately my Pistol 101 class on 28 December is full with the currently assigned range, maybe next time.

Thanks for the feedback! It looked like a great course! A little pricey though

5 Arrows Tactical is having a Practical Pistol 1 class Jan 10th at Burro Cyn. I have taken this class before and its a great way to learn further in a class or group setting on the range. Much better than just shooting from time to time.

I don't regret burning some bridges. I regret that some people weren't on those bridges when I burnt them!

Max Joseph and TFTT/Direct Action Group are running their tactical handgun series in January 2015.

Executive protection and tactical training near Los Angeles — VIP / PSD, pistol, long gun, and tactics courses for military, law enforcement, and qualified professionals.

                  Handgun I on 10 JAN 2015
Handgun II on 11 JAN 2015
Handgun III on 24/25 JAN 2015

Each day is a cull 8 hours of combination classroom and range time. You are expected to pass a qualifications test at the end of each class with a written test at the end of Handgun III.
DAG’s pistol courses are well known and we have trained students of all skill levels. These courses encompass skill levels from beginning to advanced and special operations capable. You’ll learn safe handling, fundamentals, and marksmanship, and progress to demanding standards in our advanced pistol courses. These courses may be taken as a starting point or to enhance your existing skill. We recommend you take pistol courses at least once a year to maintain your skill.

Excellent up to date training by well regarded professionals in the training community., however the basics are the basics are the basics. Very safe classes with zero tolerance for safety violators.

As you look at various schools, pay close attention to the resumes / credentials of the instructors. A simple NRA instructor certification means NOTHING in my opinion other than the holder knows how to safety manipulate a gun. Also look for resume qualifications that include "professional instructor" positions in military or LE. Sometimes people who can "do it" aren't always the best people to "teach it".

This is a new school that I have not "studied at" but the instructors look to be very qualified:

Hit what at 50 yards? Sounds like a great class though.

I think I've narrowed it down to 5 arrows and the ITTS courses, leaning towards 5 arrows, because I can afford it sooner

Taken Handgun 1 & 2, and Carbine 1 with ITTS. Every class has been amazing, and the level of instruction is top notch. All the instructors have firsthand experience in the field, that means a lot to me. They definitely made me a better, smarter, safer shooter. It may be pricey but they have discounts up to 30% off every so often.
