Fire training and basic field tactical training

Does anyone know if there's a class on actually working an area? For example, how best to move up a hill, sure that's lots of ways to do it, but only a few that give the best cover but may funnel you into an ambush at the top and how to look out for it. Training on how to identify real cover, aka what will and won't stop a bullet coming at you. How to setup a road check point/road block, or how to get around a check point. I know you can read about a lot of this stuff but until your clearing a building or working a street, or blocking a road, its all talk. Plus I know there's a lot of tactical thinking I need to learn to watch out for. There may be a bomb in that shade tree, stuff I would have never thought about before. Basic 2-man, 3-man, 4-man fireteam tactics, when to use each one and how to effectively cover each other would also be a plus.

I'd like to learn mainly how to think on the ground through doing. I doesn't have to use a real gun, it could be with airsoft. I'm not thinking militia level at the moment but it would be nice to know enough that if SHTF I could help organize my neighborhood to effectively protect ourselves from the zombies that are sure to come.

    Thanks for any leads

If you want to learn some small unit tactics, Stan at TASC teaches some.

If you're serious and don't mind traveling, this dude comes recommended as well. One of my Army buddies told me that he's legit.

The Army has a lot of great instructors and they don't charge you for the training.

Do you have any more details about this? Nothing like learning from the guys that see way worse over seas and survived.

He means JOIN the Army or USMC if you want to learn how to assault a hill.

PS: you can always post this question in the "Survival and Preperation forum" and I'm sure you will get a lot of response ....lol.

Yea but if you want to protect against Zombie attacks you need to hook up with Special Forces or Black OPs. But for a serious operator like yourself, maybe playing the latest Call of Duty for 14 hours straight would be better, after all Zombies only exist in movies. And that way you can keep running your AirSoft. When will you turn 15 years of age?

I'm trying to be serious. You guys have seen the video from the LA riots. Only by banding together were people able to protect themselves and their property. Guns, ammo, food, water, that stuff is easy and doesn't require much training. But knowing how to effectively deploy a small or several small units and to control access to a small town is actually far more valuable. Sadly I get to fight two fights when this happens, not only do I have the mass of people from LA moving north looking food and water to be concerned about but I also have to also convenience the locals I know enough of what I'm doing (and speak Spanish) that they should follow and help me defend our families back at home.

If there is a mental health clinic in Antelope Valley, you need to go there and tell the Doctors your story....

You were provided some resources for additional info.
What you are looking for is very uncommonly taught.
Stan is the only guy I have read about with some credibility it seems (based on what former students say through posts here) that touches upon what you are interested in.
Get 5-10 other persons interested in taking a class like one you are interested in.
You would be amazed how many instructors might make themselves available to you.

Lots of books on classic battles in the library.

Weapons have changed the game over the year but learning how the Romans won battles and strategies used is a place to start.

The battle of little big horn was another example of terrain, tactics and weapons.

Check out the military section at the library.

Tons of shooting books and DVDs as well.
Rule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED

Rule 2 -NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY (including your hands and legs)

Rule 3 -KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET

Rule 4 -BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT
