Where to start

I do action pistol shoots here in the imperial valley but i really want to start getting into something more like the IDPA but i really don't know where i should start or what to do to start competing i have the equipment just don't know where they hold qualifying matches near by and not in another state.

Search for posts by a user named Gryff with northern california in the post. He puts up and maintains a thread here with the info you want.

Have you searched for the closest place to you that shoots IDPA ??
That will be the place you will go to shoot.

idpa.com then search for clubs.

Also, if you look at the top of the page, you'll see a tab that says "search".
You click on it and then enter what you want to search for.

There's not much in the Imperial Vally except artichokes.... and what's left of the Salton Sea. But you don't have to search very far, here is a list of all matches in SoCal, sanctioned by National organizations (USPSA/IDPA/Steel Challenge), and local matches, local rules.

Lemon Grove is the closest IDPA match to El Centro, only 100 miles.

yea Leethe i just found out they have it at the Adair range in yuma i went there today for a SASS shoot today but thans for the links to the lemon grove one too
