Figuring out your USPSA classification?

I have no problem finding my match info at richmondhotshots.com and tasc-ipsc.org for my matches on a one-off basis, but for the life of me I can't figure out how to get my overall USPSA/IPSC classification at the uspsa.org website. I swear I get a brain aneurism every time I try to use their website... tonight at least I figured out how to set up an "alias" for the ipsc.org website to tie the two together.

What I'm looking for is a page like you see at idpa.com -- you log into the Members area and there's all your info all lined up, to include a grid of your actual classified match times and stuff. Where do I get the same info for USPSA, how do I figure out what my classification even is?

(I blame that horrible website, I'm sure it's there somewhere but I just can't find it...)

when you first go into uspsa.org on the right hand side is a "member classification". punch in your uspsa member number and wah-lah!

How many classifiers have you shot? It usualy takes 3 then once USPSA gets all your scores in they change your class. I think on their site it shows a percentage scale, look at your scores on the hotshots site and that should give you an idea where you are at.

Once you have four classifiers, you get a classification. After that, the classification is based on the best eight of your eight most recent classifiers. Although, you can't go down in class (unless you got some horrible injury or something else that seriously impedes your ability to compete).

even if you haven't shot 4 classifiers yet, it'll still show your results against the rest of the USPSA... once you get 4 it'll give you your initial classification, then as you shoot more, each month it'll calculate your classification based on the best 6 out of your last 8 scores.

Fantastic, thanks -- I never even saw that stuff on the right side of the main page, what a mess.

The two matches I've shot with TASC are showing up, but neither of my two Richmond ones from July are showing up. Do the Richmond guys enter them once a month or something? (the results are on the Hotshots website with my USPA number though)

EDIT: I looked up some of the guys I squadded with and stuff, looks like nothing past 6/15 from Richmond has been submitted to the headquarters

Some clubs are real slow submitting classifiers. The better clubs score the match in ezwinscore and submit immediately online. Some other clubs still mail the classifiers in (snail mail).

Besides the uspsa website there is some ohio club that has some classifier calculator. You can enter the classifer number, and your hit factor and it will make a pretty decent estimate on what your percentage will be. It's not super accurate but it seriously pretty close.

Thanks! Turns out the Revolver is broken, which is what I was after... *groan* I sent a note off to the guy running the place to take a look under the hood for me; trying to calculate CM08-02 in Revo. results in 0.00% no matter the HF value (the other divisions work right).

USPSA enters classifiers once a month. We have until the 10th of the following month to send them to USPSA (via web upload). Now in July, I think it was the open match (July 6th), we did not have a classifier since it turned out that USPSA disallowed the one we set up, so the match was shot sans classifier. I can't upload a classifier that doesn't count. I did submit the June Limited classifier and it is posted. I still need to upload the Aug open classifier and will probably do that this morning (I do the web page for Richmond and upload classifiers). One other thing that is kind of important, you need to be a member of USPSA to actually have classifiers count. Lately a lot of people have been coming up with expired memberships. It's Important that your membership be up to date.

One other beef I have with people who complain about not getting the classifiers uploaded is that a lot of the time people who sign up fail to CLEARLY write out what their actual name and membership # is. We do the best we can translating the chicken scratch, but sometimes it's incorrect. I NEED to know the correct info otherwise USPSA rejects it. Instead of complaining on the open forum, maybe you should have emailed me first and I'd tell you what was going on? There is always the old addage, "If you don't like how things are run, VOLUNTEER to do it yourself". I don't get paid to do this stuff.

Just checked classifier uploads... June Limited was submitted 7/7/08, July Limited was submitted 7/31/08. AFAIK all the scores are submitted via EZ Winscore via the web, we have the option to pay by credit card or send a check. Obviously the check sent takes more time.

Vince, nobody was complaining! (about this) - my gripe was with the horrible USPSA website layout and design, the comment about the Richmond classifiers was just a "hey, looks like it's not something wrong with me, nobody's is up yet". That's it, nothing more than an observation my man. We all know it's volunteer based and what takes time, takes time!

Sorry you took it so personal, wasn't meant that way at all - unless you're the guy who did the USPSA website.

I guess I was feeling a bit ruffled.. I took this bulll by the horns a couple years ago since the previous gent was pretty burned out about scoring and posting classifiers to the USPSA. So I took it over and I try to get it done but sometimes life gets in the way. We don't have a wi-fi connection at the range though it's been discussed. I tend to have the results up when I can get to them. Volunteers are who run this sport so we can always use more bodies
