    Competion sights

I am getting into shooting steel and I was wondering how competion sight shoot at 15 and 20 yards. Do competion sights shoot high so that the shooter can see the hits before they can move on to the next target? Like shooting clays with shotguns, the front bead on the barrel is under the clay bird when the sights are aligned?
I am looking for a good pair of comp. sight for my G34. Do all comp. sights have a 6 o'clock hold?

Front sights come in different heights to accomodate your shooting preference.

If you're waiting to see your hits on the target before moving on...you're behind the curve

You can always checkout Dawson Precision too. If your sights are not giving you your preferred hold (6 o'clock vs POA/POI), you can always swap out the front sight.

Dawson Precision is the experienced shooter's source for top quality pistols, parts and gear. Our state-of-art facility keeps us on the cutting EDGE of technology, providing you with the highest quality products at the best price.

For competition gun games, USPSA/IDPA/Steel Challenge/3 Gun, you want any pistol to be point of aim dead center at 40 yards. Dawson Precision, Heine, 10-8 and Taran Tactical all make good sights. Taran's fiber optic front is the smallest and brightest. Best thing is not to run out and buy anything, but rather get to your nearest steel match, and run your G34 stock, then see what the other guys are using. They will all let you try their rig.

The hold is determined by you, not by the sights. You adjust them (if they're adjustable) or buy a different height until the hold is what you want to see. This is personal preference; there are champions who like their sights this way and champions who like their sights that way. Sometimes your preference will evolve, too, so you might change to a different hold, just to see if it works better for you.

Nobody is waiting to see hits; there simply isn't time. Here's one of the greats explaining it; watch this video until it's clear to you:
