Holster for glock 17

Hello all

Im new to the forum. I always just read but this time i have a question. forgive me for being a noob. My friends and I are doing the competition in Piru I believe on February 2nd. Its our first time going. Can any of you recommend a good holsters for my glock 17 gen 3/ or should I say a holster that will work with this type of competition?

Any help would be appreciated.

Have Bladetech, Garret silent thunder, and comp-tac. All good choices, but my most recent purchased comp-tac I really like. Don't get me wrong - blade tech is good stuff and work great with all my Glocks. But specifically I think the comp tac has better mag carriers for competition because they are a little shorter. Depends on your needs.

BladeTech, this is the original solid laminate straight drop belt they used to make 15 years ago. The Black Ice is the ticket now.

I am actually thinking of making/designing a new holster that I am going to call "The Piru".

Leather (of course) but with a "dip" in the front for faster gun movement.

Also, there is this....I have found that when it comes to holsters, if you ask most shooters they will tell you that whatever THEY have, is the best! It's almost universal.

Bladetech black ice is the way to go. If you are left handed go for the Comptac.
Stay away from the Serpa.

Great news in going to the piru shoot I have been there twice already as a brand new shooter it is extremely fun.

I have a Glock 17 using a blade tech holster and Blackhawk mag pouches. It seems to be working for me thus far.

If you have any questions shoot them my way... I might not be an expert but I can help answer general questions or get you to the right people that can answer them.

I run a Safariland 5187 with my G17 in USPSA. It's not a drop-offset holster, but you can't beat it for the quality and the price point (under $30).

Stay away from the Serpa, you'll shoot your foot off!
