Richmond USPSA Open/Limited differences?

Hey guys,
After looking at the Richmond Hot Shots website, I felt a little confused by the Open and Limited Matches. What's the difference between the 2 as I see Open and Limited shooters competing in both matches?
Also, do they publish when the USPSA classifier matches happen?

I was also confused by this before. It has no practical consequence--all divisions can shoot in all matches. IIRC it has to do with getting slots at the nationals. Richmond is big enough that it counts as two clubs or something like that. You can ignore it.

Yes, the special classifier dates are announced, but every regular match has one classifier too.

Cool, got it, thanks much for the info. I'm shooting the Richmond IDPA classifier on Saturday so I figured I might as well hit up the USPSA match on Sunday too. Definitely looking to get a USPSA classification sometime this year! See you there!

Cool! What division are you gonna shoot? I've been doing production and L10 interchangeably, but I'm trying to stick with L10 now (with my 1911) so that I can actually get better at it and not confuse myself by switching guns all the time

Dude, I hear ya. I'm getting close to 1 year in competition and ultimately kept coming back to my trusty G17. So, it's Production all the way!

Elenius is correct.

The Open Match is CN08 - Richmond Hotshots.
The Limited match is CN20 - Richmond Practical Mission Shooters.

Depending on which match you shoot, you either get your classifier filed from one or the other.

It also has to do with how we do awards.. If you are competing for year end belt buckles, the Open Match decides best 8/12 finishes and how you rate. Same goes for the Limited Division. Prod, Rev, L10, and Single Stack get 24 chances to get a best of 8 for belt buckles. We average the best 8 percentages of the bunch. Depending on how many there are shooting that division, depends on how deep the buckles run also. I think we had about a dozen Revolver shooters last year and only 3 of us qualified for buckles since only 3 of us shot more 8 matches or more and placed in the top end of percentages..

I won a slot to the Nats this year for winning top Revolver shooter (even though we have a GM and M shooter, they didn't shoot enough matches) so I picked up a slot to the Nats.. I gave it up since I didn't feel like going back to Tulsa this year so the next Revo guy picked up the slot.

5 stages, total round count usually around 150, but bring at least 200 in case you need to re-shoot a stage. (This happens, e.g. when there's an equipment malfunction).
