New to Single Stack???'s

I just picked up a STI Ranger II .40 in the classifieds to use it for ESP and SS.

I'm looking for mag and holster recommendations. I use Bladetech now and wouldn't mind getting another but would love to hear thoughts. Also wanted to know if Tripp 10 rnd mags were preferred.

Keep the blade tech if it works. it's a good holster. Tripp mags are awesome!!! Use your extra $$$ for ammo and match entrance or some reliability work on your gun. Have fun!

Blade Tech's are great, Tripps are great. But why shoot a 40 in ESP or SS unless you reload, the power floor is only 125,000.

This is my first 1911 so what would you suggest for improved reliability? Anything that will help it run with 1.135 ammo would be great so I can share it with the Glocks.

Because I do reload and, for some weird reason, enjoy shooting .40

.40 single stack in ESP is the best gun for ESP if you reload. It is a division that allows the most modifications to your gun. It allows the weight of an all steel gun. Using Tripp 9 round magazines gives you a 10 round division capacity advantage. (yes it is an advantage, dont let others fool you in telling you it is not). Finally .40 bunny farts at 125pf is the softest shooting round in the game. Coupled with the heaviest gun allowed and magazines that allow you to drop without re-aquireing the same paper target twice. (on more stages than not). All of this equals a true IDPA gamming gun. Create a load specifically for that gun and enjoy ESP with it. You have one of the holy grail's for that division.

Others opinions will vary. I am but one (IDPA ESP Expert) opinion.

I ended up ordering a G-Code holster and pouches to try them out. If I don't care for it, I may try Ready Tac.

I'm learning this.... $40 mags that may or may not feed, tuned extractors, throated barrels, multiple spring changes, ammo loaded to 1.2... It better be worth it!!!

If not, I'll sell it and get two more Glocks
