Dates For 2008 Navy Matches

The dates for the 2008 Navy Matches are 25 APR - 09 MAY 2008.

Matches to be conducted at MCB Camp Pendleton. The Match Bulletin will be posted on www.usnst.org when finalized.

Roughly as follows 25 APR Admin / Registration Day, 26 - 27 APR PACFLT Pistol, 28 April - 2 May PACFLT Rifle.
03-04 MAY All-NAVY (West Coast) Pistol, 05-09 MAY All-NAVY (West Coast) Rifle.

I'll be staying up in the barracks at "Summer Camp" as my wife refers to it.

This is a lot of fun as it gives you a chance to shoot to 600yds. If your Active Duty / Reserve all you have to do is show up and "everything" is provided (ammo included).

This is an excellent opportunity for the younger active duty / reservist folks to get started shooting HP Matches.

And, it provides an opportunity to shoot one or two EIC Matches (conforming to CMP rules) in SOCAL.

I wonder if they'll use the same format as last year. That put the 200/300/500/600 aggregate on a Tue-Wed with the EIC on Thursday.

The format / agg issue is a major point of contention between the East and West Coast and something to do with balancing out the pistol & rifle agg's to end up with an even number. Hopefully the issue will be put to bed in the next couple of weeks.
