My First Carbine Class - Falcon Security Ops

Hello Fellow Calgunners,

We had set up a private Carbine Class 1.0 with Falcon Security Ops last weekend and I just wanted to say GREAT class! For the record, I have no affiliation with Falcon Ops. I just what to pass the word. If you guys ever wanted to have a private or you can join their normal schedule, I highly recommend it. Instructors were great! They really focus on your fundamentals.

For our private Class, We had about 15 guys and it was done at Raaguahes, Norco (I think I spelled that wrong... oh well). It was a 1 day 8hour class. We shot about 500-600rnds and it was ALL worth it!

I took the same class with Drix, the instructors were Hollywood and Voodoo. Started prone to check zero. Shot standing, kneeling, prone. turn right and engage, turn left and engage, turn around and engage, admin reload, tac reload, emergency reload. Great Class!!!!!!!

Way too many great quotes including the "How to tell if you're gay" explanation.

On a serious note, the class covered many basic principles. There was a lot of detail into things new shooters probably wouldn't know. Safety, Stance, Zero + Trajectory, Control, Manipulation, Efficiency with everything from Reloading (Administrative, Tactical, and Emergency) to Movement (Form, Stance, Posture, Turning).

It's a great course to take for all the AR owners out there who sit on a bench all day.

As the only AK gunner in this particular AR15 class, I definitely learned a lot of pointers from Hollywood and Voodoo. They make sure that "no one is left behind" even if they have an AK. I highly recommend their courses for new shooters and experienced shooters who want to expand their skill set with new techniques.

I can't wait to take another class.

Did Falcon taught you guys how to clear malfunctions on the 1.0 course?

yes, as malfunctions happened they explained why it happened and how to clear it, actually I think there was only one as we were all running high end stuff

Specific malfunction clearing techniques are now taught in the CM 1.5 course and expanded in the 2.0 courses utilizing 1 hand only. We felt that learning to run the gun and the safety aspect was priority one. Thus, the methodologies we employe to clear malfunctions will be covered during the other 2 course levels.

oh wow I completely lost track on this thread I made... duh!!

Yeah Like the other guys mentioned, Instructors (Voodoo & Hollywood) was great! There was a few malfunction Clearing techinique showed but like Falcon said, most of them will be on CM 1.5. I was able to keep in touch with some of my classmates that class and I know for fact that we will all be Coming back for CM 1.5 and 2.0.

As for memorable moments, well the guys that was there will know they called me "twinkletoes". hahahah def. something to remember.
