    21-round Blackjack Drill

Came up with a new drill with one of my shooting buddies on Wednesday. It combines the El Presidente drill with the Failure Drill and then head shots with two slide lock reloads. Combination of accuracy, speed and reloads. We’ll call it the Blackjack Drill since you need 21 rounds total.

    Range: 10 yards
Targets: 3 IDPA targets, 2 yards apart (edge to edge), staggered heights like IDPA (6’, 4’, 5’)
    Total rounds: 21
Scoring: IDPA (zones: -0, -1, -3 & -5 points with each point adding 0.5 seconds to your time)

Load pistol with 9 rounds total - need first reload magazine with 9 rounds and second reload magazine with 3+ rounds.

    Pistol holstered.
    Face up range.
Turn, draw and engage each target (any order) with a failure drill (two to the body and one to the head). You must engage each target with 2 to the body and 1 to the head, in that order, before moving on to the next target.
Slide lock reload the 9 round magazine and repeat above
Slide lock reload the 3+ round magazine and engage each head with one round

You should end up with 4 rounds to each body and 3 rounds to each head.

Their drills are bloodless battles, and their battles bloody drills.
