Benelli M2 Coating?

I know there is a shotgun subforum but I would rather ask here.

When I searched about what is the M2 receiver is coated in, the responses were, anodize type II, type III, powder coated, and painted. What gives?

I opened up the loading port and now I am thinking about recoating it. Just wondering if I should get it anodized type II or III?

Pretty sure it's just anodized (although my has a film dip of Realtree camo) as I'm pretty sure the receiver is just aluminum. Whatever it is, I'll tell you it's not exactly ultra durable but then scratches are cool. If you want one refinished, let me know and I can hook you up with one of my sponsors.
