    LMS Defense Customer Appreciation Weekend

3-5 June at the LMS Combat Development Center, Fernley, Nevada

This two day event is put on by John Chapman and the folks at LMS as a Thank You to all the students (and their friends) who have trained with them over the last year.

Designed as a "tasting menu" of typical training, students could simply choose which session they wanted to attend which happened in 90 minute to 3 hour slots. Up for grabs this year were:

    - Precision rifle - everything you need to know about long distance (to 500 yards)
    - Entry level pistol, AK and carbine
    - Intermediate Pistol
    - Carbine Positions and Barricades
    - CQB Operations (in the 3600 sq ft shoot house)
    - Defensive Medicine (from Doc Amentler at Alpha Training - a CGN forum vendor)
    - Vehicle Tactics
    - Women only pistol and carbine
    - Pistol for CCW operations
    - Not Down And Out - surviving the fight in the real world
    - Defensive Pistol
    - Home Defense
    - Low Light/No Light
    - Demo range (ran by Primary Weapon Systems this year)

Each session gave students the chance to try out the various LMS courses, meet the instructor cadre and get together with old and new friends of the range. Best of all, there is no charge for any LMS alumni.

The event was an outstanding success in my opinion. Everyone stayed safe and took many learning points away to learn of the next year before the 2012 Weekend.

Word on the street is that Helicopter Shooting and Night Vision Operations may make it on to the schedule.

Finally, the weekend raised over $2000 for the Wounded Warrior Project - many thanks to everyone who contributed.

Thanks for the synopsis. For the No Light sessions, did LMS provide gear (if necessary)?Wish I could have made it to the CA weekend!

There were some NVD's kicking around, but not heavily used. It was a great weekend. I believe there is a No Light course on the schedule later this year and it is possible to borrow loaner units (as well as IR Illuminator and IR Laser units). However, the No Light course is usually credentialed (like the CQB one next month). I would recommend the Low Light course first - I did it a few months back and it was "enlightening" (pun completely intended).
