    Ideal Recoil?

Someone posted in the CA Handgun section about various powder/bullet weights and perceived recoil and it got me thinking about when I first started out shooting USPSA a few years ago.

Initially I tried everything to get the gun to recoil soft/light and still have it run reliably- i.e. different powders, different bullet weights..Springs..etc etc but nowadays, I have grown to like/prefer a snappier round when given a choice..

For competition, what do you "guys" prefer in terms of recoil and how much of a factor does it make in your performance?

Faster is better, recoil just has to be managed.

147 grain 9mm bunny fart loads with an 11-13 lb spring to still keep the cycling up to speed.

      Light and fast! I shoot a 34.

I shoot a lot of 147gr 9mm and I am now thinking about switching to 124gr. Snappier recoil but faster cycling.

Yep. Aim for about 132 as opposed to riding the ragged edge of 125, in case temperature changes effect fps.
