Chabot 3-gun this weekend?

To anybody who knows, it there a match this weekend 9/2 and if so how many stages and what kind of round count can be expected?

There is a match, but I don't know the exact number of stages or round count, but I would assume 4-5 stages.

In case it helps, here's a brief mention from Steve's last email:

September 2: Carbine and Handgun
Bring more carbine ammo than less. There may be higher round count stages similar to the last carbine match....

September 30: Precision Rifle and Handgun
Sign-ups on Range 8. Scopes highly recommended (duh). Targets may be as small as claybirds or IPSC target head zone at 200 yd. Distances may be from ~200 yd. down to 25 yd. for rifle. Suggest kneepads, elbow pads, and maybe those thistle resistant shorts as we may be shooting from down in the weed patch again... And there may be a bit of low-crawling involved... : )
Bring handgun and ammo as we may reprise the precision handgun stage that many choked on last time (may be partial headshots behind no-shoots at 'indoor' distances).. . moohoohoohahaha. .. : )

Yes, unless you want to shoot your side arm one handed.
Also I would bring 300 rnds of rifle ammo. I've been to a few and have never shot over 300. Bring some soft points as well since Doug likes to sometimes incorporate wood for targets.

Yes, it's on. 3 stages. 300 rd. rifle ammo should be more than plenty. Need handgun ammo, too, (and handgun).

No wood block reactive targets planned as of now. Kneepads and elbow pads probably a good idea... : )

Does Chabot allow single point slings or muzzle must be always be pointed up? I know the last Tactical match seems to be that way.

Single point slings are allowed while running the stages. Before or after the run is over, the long-gun muzzles must be pointed up, e.g. from the rack to the start position, from the end pos back to the rack, etc. Muzzle down is allowed only during your run (e.g. transitioning to handgun).

You need to join the sfbay-3gun-announce yahoo group. Request access and them PM E. Fudd here and he'll accept your sign-up. Scores were posted last night (I just forwarded the results to you over e-mail).

I sucked it up as I suspected. Tried to hurry and my scores show it (not to mention the 3 rifle malfunctions I had but in the end I have no one to blame but myself). Hopefully the Tac Rifle scores will come out soon - I felt a lot better that match.

Ah well, that's why they call it training right?

/me worries a bit about hitting a clay bird w/ a 2X optic. -<whee>-
