The monthly High Power "Across the Course" match at West End Gun Club is this Sunday, August 19.
Here's a piece of the email notification from Charles Guzman, the High Power XTC match director at West End Gun Club:
The private range at West End has six fully functional firing points, so with three relays, it can accomodate 18 shooters. Last month we had 10 shooters.
Anyway, get there at 0630 if you want to shoot the match. It is not NRA Approved/Registered, so it won't affect your NRA classification. It's an 'informal' match. It's run in standard NRA HP match fashion, but it's very relaxed, and is the perfect venue to practice, test loads, and learn how to shoot Across the Course.

Due to it being hotter than the hubs of hell we will start the match at 0700. If we run three relays we will shoot a 50 round course. If we run two relays we can pick either a 50 or 80 round course.
Bring plenty of water, what you don't drink you can put in your radiator. Bring at least 88 rounds to cover all eventualities.
A 50 round course of fire means:
10 rounds off hand (2 sighters)
10 rounds rapid sitting (2 sighters)
10 rounds rapid prone (2 sighters)
20 rounds slow prone (2 sighters)
The reason for shooting a 50 round course of fire with three relays would be to get everyone done before it gets beastly hot. (You save save about 21 minutes and 45 seconds per relay.)
A 80 round course of fire means:
20 rounds off hand (2 sighters)
20 rounds rapid sitting (2 sighters)
20 rounds rapid prone (2 sighters)
20 rounds slow prone (2 sighters)
The reason for shooting a 80 round course of fire with two relays would be to get more trigger time.
