    Compete with bullet button?

I'm going to be building my first ar-15 and want to be able to compete with it but am not sure what people are doing considering the bullet button. Are evil features not used to make it CA Legal or are you "bending" the law and having your AR-15 setup normal (as to most states). I want to be able to have an adjustable stock and a pistol grip but don't think i want to compete with having to have a bullet button to release the mag.

Also are most competitors using 30rd mags or using the CA legal 10rd mags?

Just trying to get a better idea so i can start ordering parts.

    Thanks guys

If you don't have a registered AR, the only legal 30-round magazine setup is a featureless setup. If you want to shoot a Bullet Button setup, some matches will classify you in a separate division for 10-round limited shooters. I know Pala 3-gun has that division.

If you are competing in CA, you will need to use 10 round mags with a bullet button.

However, if you want to go featureless, you can use a standard mag release and your 10 round mags or borrow some 30's from someone there if you don't already have your own legal mags.

Building an assault weapon is not "bending" the law. It is a serious crime. Bullet button if you just like shooting, featureless if you want to try to win. A pistol grip is not any faster than a non pistol grip.

          For competition, +1 to featureless.

Make sure you hook up with someone who has plenty of legal 30 rounders, 10 rounders are a total loser with a capital L for action competition
