2007 Steel Challenge

Is anyone planning on going to the steel challenge? I think my wife and I will go.

I'm still thinking about it. I have to decide which gun to shoot.. 6 shot revo, 8 shot, 38spl, 40S&W, Limited gun.. ugh.. lol. It's definitely a pricey match but from what I've gathered from friends who have been, the prizes are even good for the last place finisher.

I might be going, it's close by so the only costs for me are gas and entry. I haven't been practicing enough lately, but we'll see.

Just mailed my application today. Its a great match and a fantastic prize table, plus there are a bunch of side matches anybody can shoot (specators welcome) for guns and cash.

I'll be there. This year I've decided to only shoot my open gun whereas I've shot two guns the past two years. Now if I could just find more Zero bullets...

I'll be there! To watch, not to shoot though. My buddy wants me to shoot, but I think I'll take the name-calling and pull a "I'm scared like a little girl" move! Hahahah!

www.steelchallenge.com is the official website though it's not the greatest website ever.

It's the biggest action pistol type match that's put on in SoCal, and one of the biggest matches in the country. Everyone single one of the best shooters in the country comes out for this one, just look at last year's results. It's interesting shooting at the practice range. I was waiting for Todd Jarrett to finish up on one stage and then Rob Leatham walked up behind me and was waiting for me. Talk about feeling insecure. This game and match really gets you to hone the mental aspect of shooting.

I'll be going, and I'm hoping to learn a lot. I've heard that LOTS of talent will be there, so I'm going to be keeping my eyes and ears open trying to pick up as much as I can!

I'll be shooting the CDP class this year.

The match is held at the ISI range facility, which is part of the Wes Thompson range area. ISI's steel challenge range is the last one on the left. It's a private range, but we hold steel challenge matches open to the public every first Saturday of the month.

Just had our first match yesterday Turn out was light for such a club commitment. Hoping to see better support for July 29th and Aug 5th matches.

I think this is the richest shooting match in the country. You'll get your entry $$$ at the prize table. A great bunch of folks put this on and the best shooters show up to shoot.
