FS question about brass

Will be attending front sight soon. Do I buy cheap alloy cased ammo or brass. Is there an opertunity to collect my brass at any time.

I don't believe they care if you have alloy cased ammo.

There are plenty of opportunities to collect your brass but good luck finding it amongst everyone else's. Realistically, just hang around at lunch and after class and take whatever you want. They have a service come to sweep the ranges for brass but just don't look like you're vacuuming the whole range. For expensive brass like .308 they'll cut you plenty of slack.

I partnered with a revolver guy once and of course he had an easy time of it, everything just went into his hand then in a pocket.
