    IDPA/Practical pistol in San Diego

Tried searching but couldn't find anything. I'm looking to get into IDPA or some similar type of shooting competition again. Does anyone know if anything like this takes place in San Diego?

I'm not a champion or anything, but no, I have competed before. Just not in So Cal. Even won some prizes a few times. Not that I can compete with you. I mean the blood of Jeff Cooper runs through your veins.

OneSevenDeuce, now you got it! I started with Col. Jeff Cooper in Lucerne Valley in 1968, and continued from there. So you do have a thick (competition) skin after all. See you at the nearest match. You will recognize me by my avatar. So where before SoCal?did you compete?

I know where you started. You have mentioned it at least a dozen times on these boards! I have competed while I was stationed in Alaska with the U.S. Army in local civilian competitions, and after I got out and joined the Guard I competed in unit competitions which, btw, are much more difficult than the civilians comps IMO. You haven't lived until you have run through a two gun competition in IBA, 50 lbs of gear, and stock military weapons.

OneSevenDeuce, when did you go in? I had a friend from Illinois that ended up in Alaska in 1969 and he was a shooter. Yes, the Army deals are tougher, especially the stock trigger and sights part.

Went in long after that. 2002. Signed my name on the dotted line right after 9/11, found myself in Alaska a few months later.
