tungsten guide rod

[1911 now!]

i have a 1911 springfield armory loaded.. if i wanted to change the 2 piece guide rod to a tungsten 1 piece guide rod, would there be any difference with the recoil? or is there such a thing as a one piece guide rod, tungsten, for a model 1911?

Yes,

the one piece tungsten guide rod will work for recoil.

Bottom line..the best recoil management device is always weight.

If you are using it for USPSA pistol matches, be aware that the pistols total weight must not exceed 43oz with empty mag.

Shoot with a purpose.

Actually, I think the 43 ounce limit is for Single stack.. There is no limit for Open, Limited, or Limited 10.
