that's a mightly fast drop turner.. a 3/100th, or less second exposure?

I used the 15 yards TMC quoted..
it's usually better to default to the original post for distances when figuring out the math...i'm not sure where TMC got lost the 35 yards either

Not that I doubt the story but.....could only bit hit with an open gun
i'm sure he told me which match it was, but i don't remember, the point of the story was Enos' analytical skills...now you have me thinking it might have been Plaxco. my fading memory seems to place this at a IPSC match in the 80s...it was after the introduction of compensators, but prior to the introduction of optics

i want to know how to shoot more effectively since i just got my gun 2 weeks ago and shot it once. hehehe.. thanks for the tips!
while USPSA shooters will kid about IDPA standing for I Don't Practice Anymore and IDPA shooters think of USPSA as a speed game, one thing does remain true about either sport, especially if you are shooting production class...you can't shoot fast enough to make up for a miss.

the key will always be making "A" zone hits (trigger control), while being efficient (fast) about the non-shooting aspects like presentation (draws and push outs), mag changes and target transitions...the good thing is that these call all be practiced without expending ammo

I agree, it's seems it common for people new to the sport to get to hung up on the technical details of gear and loads, when all they need to do to trulie improve is work on their shooting

a commonly misunderstood saying...if you're practicing an incorrect technique, it doesn't make the shot prefect...however it can ingrain a bad shooting habit.

one of the best things you can do to improve your shooting/practice is taking a good shooting class (usually 2-3 days) to learn the fundamental skills you can build on

I did not mean to discourage you from trying different loads, or trying new gear just find something you like and feels good and shoot the hell out of it.
If you go to enough matches the folks there will help you learn allot.

And yes, if you have the money and time take a class or two
                happy shooting my friend!

for competition just shoot whatever is cheap to reload, 230 gn lead works! When i shot single stack thats what i used, then it got too expensive to even reload 45 so i now shoot production and reload 9.

Only thing you gotta worry about is making major power factor, so just load to that and have fun, itasier to make major with a heavier bullet too

Rich Brito made master class in CDP division with 49 points down. You can miss fast enough in IDPA to win.
I move slow but I make up for it by shooting poorly.
