Shot my first 3 gun comp Saturday!

Had a hell of a good time at the West End Gun Club 3 gun match out at Lytle Creek. They're doing an all-rifle match next month and I'm SOOO going to be there.

    And the obligatory pics!

And no photos of me shooting in the rifle stage, but here's a pic someone took after.

Next month is a full rifle-only match. I'm stoked!

I didn't bring a shotgun, so the first match I shot using my pistol, and the second shotgun stage I was able to borrow someone else's, which I think was a remington 870. Man loading those things is a real pain!

One important thing to know is that if you don't have all the equipment, there are usually a lot of guys there who have way too much and can lend it to you.

For example, I had to give my shotgun back to my father in law so I don't have one at the moment. I shot the first shotgun stage with my pistol, but then there was one guy who was leaving the shotgun state and offered to let me use it. Even gave me ammo!

So yeah, don't worry too much about gear. Just get out there and have a good time. I had one hell of a s**t eating grin on my face when I left.

People have so much gear because it is a lot of trial and error. Borrow or buy cheap until you find what works for you. I think I have 4 belts and as many holsters and other crap for just one gun.
