Cool! I've been looking into the IDPA at my local range since I picked up my Glock 27. It sounds like a lot of fun! I don't really have any training advice, other than dry firing, as it helps your trigger pull.

If you don't mind traveling and spending a few dollars www.taranbutler.com is the best you'll find in this state I can think of.

It wouldn't surprise me if someone in CA other than Taran had a IDPA national championship. Search them out. Bob Hostetller (sp) is holding a class soon PM him.

Otherwise grab one of the better shooters in your area and work with him.
I move slow but I make up for it by shooting poorly.

When I hit the lotto I'm only shooting factory.

The Sacramento IDPA club does hold intro IDPA class a couple of times a year.
