    IDPA?

Looking for IDPA competition in So-cal. Years ago I used to shoot IDPA at a private range up Lopez canyon north of Sylmar. It was an invite only situation as it was private. Anyone have any leads so I can get active again either there or a new place?

Just so happens a rain-out from last weekend has moved the IDPA match to tomorrow Jan. 30.
Locally, the matches are handled by ISI, here's a link: http://www.isishootists.com/

Location is Piru, off Hwy 126

Thanks for the info! Is it normally held on Saturdays? It looks like the schedule is set for every Sunday normally..

Matches are the fourth Saturday each month.
Piru is probably closest with the nicest drive for you.

I was looking at the 2009 schedule hence the seemingly idiotic question about saturdays or sundays....

And who comes to our aid in times of peril? Sometimes, it is the police or first responders; other times it is healthcare professionals; and sometimes it is family, friends, or neighbors. Sometimes, it is no one."... - U.S. District Judge Stephen McGlynn.

On the second Saturday of each month there's a "Compact Match" for people shooting smaller guns like the Colt Officer's Model, and J frame revolvers.

Just a correction: The 2nd Saturday match is for compact semi-autos OR revolvers of any size (within IDPA rules). They don't have to be J-frame.

Not knocking Prado -- I've been there and they run a great match, but the drive from The Valley is a long one.

Piru is much closer, less traffic and is really pretty once you get out on the 126.

The ISI crowd is a great group of folks.
