    Front Sight Firearms Training

EDIT: This thread is to connect Front Sight students for carpooling or group classes or whatever. This thread IS NOT for volunteering your opinion about what Front Sight is or isnt. If you dont like it, no one will make you attend. Really....

How many Calgunners have gone to Front Sight, want to go to Front Sight or are thinking about getting/ have a Front Sight membership?

You can check all that apply on the poll... Id like to see a list here so maybe we can set up a group class or carpooling or whatever....

I have been twice. I would not repeat but for the simple reasons that there is training just as good, if not better here where I live from FTA in Norco with Bill Murphy. Additionally I don't care for the "hard sell" tactics employed by Dr. Piazza. I want training, not real estate. It's like being sold a time share with a gun. Additionaly I didn't care for the way Chuck Taylor was treated when he was let go as director of training there. It left a bad taste in my mouth. You didn't have a place in your poll for "have been, would not go back".

Well, this thread is not intended for those that are not gong or not going back, that is why that option is not available. This thread is for those that want to go or go again so we get some car pooling or group classes etc. So thanks for opinion and all, but I wasnt asking for it so you can keep it all for yourself.

Ok, where in my post did anyone get the idea that I was asking for anyone's opinion on how good or how bad front sight is? I know how it is - im a member and go every chance I get. This thread is for getting other members or those that wish to go together to car pool or do a class together. Nothing more.....

            MP,
My answer was not intended to anger you. It was simply honest. It seemed to me anyway you were asking past students if they would return. My apologies for the misunderstanding. Thanks for the clarification and I'll stay out of your thread.

No, it is I who should apologize for getting a bit pissy.....IIts just that I have been round and round with anti Front Sight people (most, if not all, who have never been there) who do there best to try and discourage others from going. This just chaps my hide. If they have not been, then they should STFU, right?

Anyway, thanks for posting and I hope you change you minds about going again soon...

Side note...did you guys notice one of you is a furryrabbit and the other is a BunnySlayer? I thought that was funny.....

I am just waiting for my GF to finish her AR Build, and we will be going, sometime probably closer to the summer. Maybe even after depending on her work schedule. Do you recommend taking the Handgun Course before the shotgun or rifle Course?

front sight member here. i have taken the handgun, ccw, rifle, shotgun & empty hand defense. i am taking handgun and rifle again in feb. i have a class that i am organizing for 4-day rifle on 02/19/10 and my buddy nevster has a 4-day handgun class on 02/12/10. it is a good opportunity for people to come out and train with fellow calgunners if they are able to make one class or the other or maybe both like nevster and i are doing. the classes are both advertised in the commercial sales and good deals forum.

i used an ar15 with a 16" barrel and an eotech in the 4-day class. i did pretty crappy at the longer ranges.

i used an ar15 with a 16" barrel and a millett dms scope in the skill builder. i did a little better, but not much.

in the other rifle classes, i switched back and forth between the two.

how did you like the empty hand course? was it informational and practical? it's on the wish list of classes to take.
