    "One" Gun?

    Hello, New Guy here.

I live in north L.A. county.

Is there such a thing as a "one" gun match for AR type rifles that has the same type of course of fire as the "three" gun matches. Something like IDPA for carbines?

I don't have the money or inclination to shoot pistol and shotgun.

    Thanks

    High Power Shoots

Or you can just go to a Carbine Course

High Power matches are completely different than 3 Gun courses of fire, and carbine classes are one shot deals.

Some clubs occasionally run USPSA rifle matches, but they are few and far between.
Richmond Hotshots runs the yearly Bay Area Rifle Championships, but that's pretty much the only rifle-only match I know of in CA (pretty far from you though)
        With Oden on our side.

          BARC is a great match.
I know of no just rifle matches up in Nor Cal.
We were thinking of getting a 22LR rifle match at SacValley. A lot of us have gotten the AR 22LR uppers.
Just have not had the time to get it set up.

I've been talking to some folks here in SoCal about a rifle only match or 2-gun match but it's only preliminary. In contrast, they have a few IDPA Carbine matches out here in Virginia that are fun, well run and popular. There's actually an indoor 50y range that works well.

I'd loved to see a "tactical rifles-only" match..... can only dream about it for now...

Whaaaaatt?? A .22 AR shoot being considered at Sac Valley???

Definitely interested in this. I'll keep my eyes open on this board.

For the record, I too wonder why there aren't more tactical rifle matches. Lots of folks are out there with new black rifles and interested in doing more than punching paper at the range.

Funny.....I was just wondering the same thing. With the popularity of ARs increasing though I can see it catching on. There needs to be something between pistol only and 3 gun.

Wombat25, the IDPA club at El Dorado had a 3 gun match using 22LR pistol,
22LR rifle and regular shotgun. I missed that one. They said it was fun, and cheap!!

I have heard one of the USPSA clubs at Sac Valley was allowing second runs at the pistol matches with carbines. I'm sure adjustments were made for the steel targets though.

A rifle only match sounds like a good idea. Remember: "If you build it they will come."
