    Wanna try competition...

Looking to try out uspsa or steel challenge type events. I've never shot competitively before nor am I a member of any club.

Coming from the pasadena area, I generally go to angeles or burro. Are there any clubs in the area I can hit up?

FYI I did check the uspsa site which pointed me to Gopher flats but the address is clearly a commercial area so I'm not sure if it's actually a thing.

Several of the clubs at the Piru ranges do steel matches. Wheelburners there does a .22lr steel match as well.

      Wanna try competition...

Gopher Flats/SWPL club hosts a Steel Challenge match every 4th Saturday of the month and a USPSA the 4th Sunday of the month. Next matches are this weekend.

You can register for either match by going to Practiscore.com. Click on Matches. Then search for SWPL.

Register and then send a message to the email address on the registration page to get directions.

I member of the club. Our range is private and the land owners don?t allow us to publish the address or direction. The range is in Sylmar, close to Angeles.

Most USPSA clubs require you to take or have taken a class in order to qualify you to participate in practice or a match.

The class is painless, basically they are teaching you the rules of the game so you don't DQ. Some clubs might teach you to draw from a holster but I'm not aware of any that do.
I'd agree with you but then we'd both be wrong...

Piru also has Action Pistol- all steel similar to USPSA. CAWB rimfire challenge is 1st Saturday of the month, Steel Challenge is second Saturday, Action Piston is third Saturday. There is also an outlaw USPSA stlye match almost every weekend.

                    Concord Matches

                    Linden Matches

                    Oakdale Matches

                    Sacramento Matches
