Airsoft force on force practical training

Hi everyone. I want to practice realistic scenarios - car hijacking, hold up at atm and so on. It?s hard to find force on force training around here so I was thinking ? airsoft groups or leagues sound great. Any tips for where to find something like that? Is this the right section to post?

I?m just curious, what are you expecting to learn?

Corbin - from this post or from airsoft? From the post I?m looking for practical force on force training in socal. The reason for FoF is stress inoculation. If I ever find myself in a situation I?d like not to freak out. I figure getting hit by airsoft and simunitions is not the same as really getting shot at but at least it will be practice under stress.

From the training, sorry I wasn?t clear.

I?ve done a number of these types of training and while interesting, the level of stress is massively diminished because you are not truly in a fight or flight situation.

My take on being in a gunfight is much like any fight, avoid this at all costs.

Now, if you are presented with no choice, you have to be prepared to take a life. If you can have this mindset, I suggest training with sim over airsoft because you KNOW you?ve been hit.

I would never send anyone here to the people I paid and they are out of business anyways for obvious reasons.

My suggestion is to find certified simunition training classes near you and contact the instructors.

Make sure you get references of previous students and ask them about their experience.

#1 question you should ask anyone who attended is ?would you go back??

That will tell you a lot.

Corbin- agree. I have done simunitions scenarios and while I have not been shot, it was very stressful. If I find an airsoft course, I think I would start with appropriate cover garments but if I find it does not hurt enough probably take them off and just go T-shirts. my goal is that getting hit will hurt a lot and as much as I don?t want to get hit I kind of do want to get hit to get some stress. I agree simunitions will be better than airsoft, but may be harder to find.

I'm not sure where you live... But I do know the California City SWAT team regularly does airsoft training. Yes, California City has so much crime they have their own SWAT team... One of my old coworkers use to run with them on the weekends. They liked to proof out their new tactical gear so they do weird times depending on the need. Thermal, Night-vision, man-hunting, tracking, building clearing, etc. Apparently it is possible to hide from some of those sensors in the right conditions.

As for civilian grade training, NRA seems to be about it. A few years ago I was looking into learning squad based tactics but didn't have much luck in finding classes.

Helpful cub - I just made a new thread to see who is interested in taking part in regular force on first training. If more than a few people are interested, I will plan on setting it up.

There used to be a place in northern San Diego County called Warfighter Academy. They did force-on-force CQB training with airsoft weapons inside the old Escondido Police HQ. I took a class there once and it was pretty cool. The company seems to have shut down now. The old websites are up, though. You may be able to reach out to the emails or whatever to see if Dave Maynard can do the private training for you at a location in L.A.

Here is a more current reference website: https://tgsops.com/warfighter-academ...ical-training/ You could reach out to this company and ask them if they can put you in touch with the former Warfighter Academy staff.

I'm interested. Just not sure how to schedule it now that I have kids. Before kids, life was easy.

We've got something cooking that we think you'd love. If you have a couple of other friends that want to participate we can make something work out for private sessions!
