I don’t participate in gun buybacks, so I don’t know. Then again, what would a gun range sponsoring a gun buy back have anything to do with how it operates its business?

I tried Insight today and they were helpful. You can bring your own ammo despite what the website says. Feels a bit nicer than La Puente. You can rent a firearm and try out as many as you want as long as you bring the first one back and they allow rifles/carbines unlike la puente and I think it's cheaper too. Might go back if I want to go to an indoor range.

Now that it's been a few months I'm curious (and I bet the group at large would be curious) to hear where OP ended up.

Before I moved out of state I was a member at Evan's. I never had any issues with customer service. Range was never too busy if I went on weeknights after work. I enjoyed shooting there. Just my $0.02.

i like that ft3 has.a $40 90min class . work from concealed , work on the move, low light, etc.

its training that i can re-do once a month. im not about spending $1000 for a 2-day course for perishable skills

            Very late, long overdue update:

Evan's is the way to go. Very easygoing staff, but can be busy at times.

La Puente Range had been decent, but oddly enough, the one time I bring a Shadow Systems MR920 to shoot.. they flipped out; immediately assumed I was bringing some "ghost gun" Polymer 80 nonsense in. Owner started blabbing about not wanting ATF scrutiny etc.

I tried calmly explaining and showing the gun and informing/educating them, but to no avail. The bias had been planted.. started thinking I was some rogue LE who "can get away with off-roster purchases.. [blah blah blah..]"

I said that they could have a good evening, and perhaps educate themselves about what they consider questionable- And so, haven't returned since the end of summer, last year.
