Lena's grip?
Tags: None -
its simply a version of 'putting a support hand finger on the trigger guard' that actually works. I think its particularly beneficial for shooters with small hands to get more meat on the gun for both stability and recoil control. It takes solid practice though...Lena has plenty!
There is no right/wrong, only what works or doesn't. -
The trigger guard thing went out of favor with the people I see shooting, about 25-30 years ago. I've never seen that many fingers on the trigger guard, even on the dust cover.Comment

Looks to me like the left hand middle finger is crowding the trigger area. I suppose it works for her.
I have smallish hands and struggle to keep a firm and consistent grip on the gun. May have to try a version of this.Les Baer 1911: Premier II w/1.5" Guarantee, Blued, No FCS, Combat Rear, F/O Front, Checkered MSH & SA Professional Double Diamond Grips

Never seen anyone other than her shoot with two fingers on the trigger guard like that. I'd be interested in a look at the other side of the grip to see how much grip is floating. Maybe the far forward grip is more helpful to her small hands for managing the up and left recoil by pushing on the dustcover instead
I shoot with my support hand index finger on the trigger guard. This is my giant hands on my P10F
If it works for you then it works for you.

Lena has been shooting since she was a tiny human. When she was little she couldn't wrap her tiny hands around the gun properly...
Can think of a number of athletes I've 'let' continue to be against the grain. An axiom of sports is,
"Don't change a winning game."
As a tennis pro, I come across kids that have some malformed grip, swing or style that is counter to anything I'd ever teach. The trick is to understand when it is an impediment to their long-term growth as a competitor.
