sightblock guns in idpa

was thinking of getting into idpa do they allow sightblocks . i know comp guns are prohibited not sure on sight blocks. i was thinking of an atlas artemis. if not is the athena co legal? thanks in advance.

IDPA is focused on creating "real life" situations you could encounter with the gear you're carrying. That all has to be taken with a grain of salt, of course, assuming you are not member of a SWAT team.
So Carry Optics has quickly grown into the most popular IDPA division, and we use high end guns like the Sig P320 X5 Legion. With the latest rule change, you can even use a 20*11-style gun, if you have the cash, but I haven't seen one in action at a match yet.
The CZ Shadow 2 is a notch too heavy to meet the weight limit, but the Athena should be legal as it's listed as 38 ounces. If you can afford shooting a $5,000 gun in competition, more power to you!
