    IDPA Rule Change -- SSP

As you probably all know, come June of this year IDPA allows 15 rounds in the mag in (at this time) the SSP division. I know some clubs already trying to figure out whether or not they implement this rule in California -- which brings me to my question: how can this be implemented in light of the California laws prohibiting magazines with more than 10 rounds?

It's not just California. Many states have round limitations along with other countries.

Not sure how Joyce and team are going to address this.

well the people in non-ban states have been fussing for a long time that they have to download to 10 rounds. That's just dumb for a "defensive pistol" you can't even carry your full load. At least USPSA has a limited-10 division, and you can choose to play in it or not.

I thought possession and use were still legal in CA pending Duncan?

Those that have them will run at 15 and those that don't will run at 10. At the club level it doesn't really matter IMHO, but a Tier-2+, you'd be at a considerable disadvantage in SSP.

I guess there is always CCP, ESP, and CDP for the limited capacity states.

I don't get it, for training I routinely run fewer rounds in a magazine to practice reloading under stressful conditions. I would routinely build my shoot senario around the fact I have more targets than rounds in a single magazine.
We have had a CA division in 3 gun for years for 10 round magazine limitations.
As long as everyone is playing by the same limitations it still comes down to skill and training.

              Right in the rulebook

              * Match directors may be required to lower the magazine and division capacity to comply with State or local laws. In
these cases, the MD is required to publish this announcement ahead of a match.
