PF is using Front Sight evaluation of the Appraisal Done January 19th, 2022 of about $25 Million. They are funded through a Venture Capital Group and have plenty of money behind them as reported to me from an Insider at PF. -
Does anyone know the number of members willing to spend $500 a year maintenance and the other per day fees?
There could be a sizable amount who have displayed a continued interest despite the yearly and other fees.
PF must have done their homework and see that this opportunity at the current structure will work for them.
Why else invest 19 mill into this.
That group has considerable means and experience. They wouldn’t venture into this at the amount it will cost someone if they were not confident they can make it work.
There must be big plans for the future of that location that could go beyond what they are sharing right now.
I am sure a evaluation of the property worth has been done. I would imagine by whatever banking/financial institution will be loaning the money.Leave a comment:

It's going to be interesting to see how PF does the first year or two. I think they definitely need to offer a basic intro class or skill builder under their lowest membership tier. I think there's a lot of FS people who would partake in that, and then you have customers onsite to see their higher level course offerings. If they keep prices as proposed past promotional period, they aren't going to retain many seasoned FS members, unless the PF experience really is unique and top shelf. Seems like they may have some focus on hosting national competitions.PF really thinks it has a real winner eh? I wonder what % of FS membership are they planning on retaining? You got to remember that a lot of the memberships were purchased by people in the hope of going 1 day. Then there are those who live across the country who have to add airfare on top of the cost of taking a class. Also a lot of members who have a budget and took advantage of a low cost membership making financial sense to them. Lots of "to be determined" memberships outstanding I'm sure (I still have 6, or had 6) but they get washed away. I hope PF accurately predicted how many members they will retain in their business plan and have a contingent plan of replacing lost members. And if they want to retain former members they better make their free "no cost" 2 yrs $200 membership akin to the normal FS basic class experience otherwise you'll lose more members. Perhaps they should forget about the non lead ammo too, another costly item added to the tab.
I do hope PF succeeds, it beats bulldozing the facility.
I noticed on the FS schedule website that classes in Dec and beyond have been removed. Definitely a sign of what's coming. With that piece of info, I feel pretty confident classes in Sept/Oct/Nov will be honored.Leave a comment:

No-one else will be paying anymore than that and they have plans for up to 1,000 RV Spots, No Hotel or Casino. Time Share Villa Condos in the way distant future. Reconfigured Ranges on some for Competitions. Sintered Ammunition proposed using on the Ranges. Many things I am not at Liberty to say at this point. Expect it to Happen No later than January 1st, 2023 because they want all this through Bankruptcy to be reconciled September 30th, November 18th, and December 1st dates for various actions. Expect it - Plan on it.

I had a private booked for the end of this month and just cancelled it. Was told that I could wait to pay in person on the first day of the class, or pay now in advance. They recommended I pay now because the fee structure may change with increased fees between now and then, so I just told them to cancel it.Leave a comment:

I appreciate that.
I actually loved going to FS. Sure, I am a PITA around here, but I do take my training seriously. I learned so much in the short time I was able to go to FS, and still took every available opportunity I had to get out there, which was t easy because I was also going to grad school and working full-time simultaneously. I remember a few times trying to get a decent wi-do signal while out there so I could hand in assignments on-time, and may have even called in sick once or twice at work in order to attend. I did end up getting suckered into a Knight Membership for $1,995, but still think it was worth it. Earlier this year I invited 8 buddies and we all went out for a 4-day private. Everyone had such an amazing time and still talk about that trip. I also got to see some friends I hadn’t seen in person in almost 10 years! So the cost of the Knight membership along with the $150 I paid for my Commander membership initially, I absolutely got my money’s worth.
Others can poo-poo the classes and instruction but in the short time I’ve been pursuing this hobby I’ve take only a few classes elsewhere. But I can still say they 4DDHG is such a fantastic class. The curriculum and way the information is presented is second to none, and I credit that class (and taking it several times) for allowing me to go to other facilities and take slightly more advanced classes. On two occasions while in a class at other organizations I was commended by the instructors for having a solid foundation and fundamentals. That really meant a lot to me.
Another unintended benefit of going to FS was being exposed to others at that time I probably would have interacted with on a daily basis since I live in liberal Oakland. As a result I slowly began hearing different opinions on things and that resulted in a dramatic change of my political opinions and views.Last edited by Vinnie Boombatz; 09-13-2022, 10:16 AM.Leave a comment:

I agree......
I've been going to FS since 2000. I agree, some of my best memories are on those ranges. That being said, it is sad to see Front Sight go away. I've been attending courses there for almost 10 years now and the lessons learned and friendships made on the gravel with the staff and fellow students is something I shall always cherish .
The last 5 years I had the opportunity to be an Instructor at FS and can honestly say it was one of the most fulfilling things I have ever done in my professional career. From shooting courses with fellow calgunners to Instructing some of their classes, it was always a pleasure to meet some of you and to give back to the 2A community through a facility like Front Sight.
I am proud of the time I spent there teaching students and that is what I will remember most about Front Sight. I feel a bit sad if I'm being honest knowing I've worn that uniform for the last time but I am grateful for the thousands of students I and we as a staff had the opportunity to work with.
Hopefully the new owners can build upon what Front Sight started and take this facility to then next level!
Maybe I'll even still see a few of you out there in a class as we enjoy our 2 years of reduced fees.

One of the best things there was the staff and Instructors.....
I thank them all for the knowledge and skills I've learned.

Since your former employer is almost kaput, it won't be long before you can share any scuttlebutt secrets with us all. Whos going to sue you, Frontsight?
