Regarding training. I think FS handgun training is decent for getting new people introduced to handguns. For experienced people there are better programs out there (e.g. "Handgun Mastery" course at TPC).
My last experience at FS was earlier in the year when they announced their initial fee changes. I was there for the 4 day shotgun course. I got a lot out of it and they guided me from having never fired a semi-automatic shotgun (Beretta 1301 Tactical) to being the only DG in the course (-6 down). So, I was very happy with the instruction. Each day I solved a different problem with the shotgun handling by asking the instructors and being guided to a solution. Especially, being left handed, I had to come up with manipulations, with their help, that worked within time constraints.
So, I wouldn't knock the training, you get what you put into it.Leave a comment:

I did get some good training there. I don't understand the need for people that have never been there to denigrate.
There's another variable that hasn't been mentioned. When someone says they had experience with someone that had trained there, maybe that person wasn't a good student. When I was there, I did have people in my class that needed more practice and mental discipline. That's not the fault of the teacher. Students vary. Some instructors will also repeat negatives regarding competitors, again maybe without thinking about all the variables. If I see a guy shoot that came out of a big name class that doesn't do well, does that mean the instructor isn't very good? It's also unprofessional to put down the competition without actual experience, first hand.
Many people got their first training at Front Sight. They got a chance to learn safe gun handling and develop some skill. I got to see some beginners get a lot better by the 4th day. Some that focused and worked on learning graduated. I had some experience and was able to DG my first time on the 4 DDHG.
No emails now for me since the 13th. I keep hoping I'll hear some good news.Leave a comment:

Dustin Ciaccio was my very first FS 4DDHG range master. Great guy!
I heard he got fired for something along the lines of calling out the head boss in front of everyone. (employees)Leave a comment:

As long as Piazza runs FS, "real good" programs come with "real good" catches.
If you think that Piazza will change his methods of running FS, the bull shat will continue unabated. If you're thinking that improvements are right around the corner, it's time to put down the crack pipe and face reality.

FUD.Never been to FS. Had an offer but said no after I asked some instructors I have trained with and they all said the same “ never been impressed with the skill set of anyone who trained at FS. “ Sounds like it was cheap for a reason. Pay for better instructors , the top people travel to different clubs who host them and there are lots of competent instructors in California. You don’t get a decoder ring but you get real training. Sounds like it was better than nothing but not much else. Better to take one real good class and practice on your own rather than take 10 crap classes and get some meaningless gold membership. If you have nothing to compare it to maybe. My dream shotgun class would be with Clint Smith. He teaches in LV too. Pricey but it’s a real class by a real expert.
From the horses mouth in the links , it was a scam for 3rd rate training from day one . Accept it and move on .
Dude’s never been, but apparently is a multiple degree black belt in the art of know it all.
Are you Steven Seagal?

You think you know what you're talking about, but you actually don't. You have bits and pieces correct but your overall conclusion is incorrect. Sorry. Unfortunately it's unlikely any amount of rational discussion debating your opinion may change your mind. Think about that, and it should provide the real answer.Leave a comment:

Sorry you got scammed into training at a McDojo. When you see who DIDN’T train and who DOESN’T endorse the training there it’s clear what they were about. Even in the shooting world , there are McDojos and useless katas . It’s the Aikido of shooting. McDojo life exposes all the fantasy based martial arts and it’s crazy to watch all the folks saying their martial art is real even after being shown otherwise. If your ego is wrapped up being in the super secret black belt platinum circle club , it might be devastating. We all get suckered.Leave a comment:

Well said! Thanks for proving to us that you don't know what the **** your talking about!
Secondly the whole FS experience has been nothing but positive and good training.
If it wasn't for the FS staff and their Professional attitude, it is what got FS as far as it did.
No, I'm not happy about the current situation. But belittling of the training and the FS staff is unacceptable.
Especially from people who haven't been there.Leave a comment:
