Benelli competitors: how open is your port?

    Howdy folks,

Curious how much of you are running modified loading ports? Did you do it yourself or send it out? I want to open up my M3 but want to get ideas on how conservative or aggressive the modifications are. A lot of them look super deep, and I'm aiming to maximize how much can be cut before running into problems with the receiver.

From what I can feel inside the port, it seems that as long as the lip within the receiver can still positively engage the tube follower, the 6'o clock portion of the receiver looks like it can be cut out entirely. I'm concerned about how deep you can go on the left and right of the tube though. My understanding is the receiver simply holds the follower in place, but the bolt release on the Super 90 series solely holds the shells in place.

Shoot me ideas on this. Would love to open this up for my sausage fingers. I will be doing weak hand loading. Thanks!
