    How big a stick?

Until recently, I didn't have a Glock, so I didn't care. But I recently got one (sorta) so I want to ask - how big a magazine is normal for IPSC, etc, for a Glock? Is it any different for Carry Optics?

21 rounds? I see some are 24. Anyone use Magpuls? I would assume their 27's are too big?

I think it depends on the gun, unless IPSC rules over ride what Glock sells.

I can read a rule book. I was hoping someone with a Glock would know.

Are you asking about IPSC or USPSA. Very little IPSC in the U.S. USPSA production division is limited to 10 round. Open is 170mm max length, Limited 140mm max length. Capacity also depends on caliber. Carry Optics is the new popular division but I'm not sure on it's limits. Pcc has those 32-33 round glock mags plus extentions bringing capacity into the 40s.

            My apologies.

James Reeves, a Glock owner over at the Firearms Blog, noted that the Glock 24-round Magazine is
            165mm (6.49″).
so it wouldn't work out for Carry Optics. It would work if you decide to shoot in the Open Division.

According to Taran Butler, who probably owns a thousand Glocks, his +5/6 basepad (for 17/17L/19X/22/24/34/35/45 9mm)
            Fits the USPSA 140mm gauge.
            . . .
            Holds 23+1 rounds of 9mm.
Lenny Magill, of GlockStore (and "classic" USPSA 80/90's video) fame had a similar experience with the Arredondo offering:

^^I imagine that the video was created prior to the initial update to Carry Optics which allowed for the 141.25mm magazine.

Magpul, who likely had several Glocks to test, noted that their GL-21 will meet the 140mm requirement
Meeting the overall length requirements for a 140MM competition magazine, the PMAG 21 GL9 offers additional capacity without the need for expensive extensions.
