Pinned safeties?

How do people pin their safeties?
I am just curious as I will not be doing this to mine.
Always wanted to know what is done to pin the safety in place..

There's a couple of ways.. some people just bend the sear spring, or others leave that intact but wedge some small peice of material between the grip safety and the mainspring housing.

I've also just seen tape wrapped around the grip safety.

I'm sure there are other ways too.

Not an expert, but here is what i have seen done many times in the past.

If your talking 1911 or 2011 style semi auto's

The mainspring housing is drilled on top and the grip safety is drilled on the bottom in the matching location. A small pin is inserted that pins the grip safety depressed....or, a small drop of weld is put on the top of housing and the grip safety dimpled on the bottom to recieve the small drop, which pins it down.....
