      No.

I'm guessing the party involves getting the sand out of your crevices and getting some rest.

Doesn't the competition literally last 24 hours?

Just be forewarned - the 1st day, of your 1st match there, catches you completely off guard. You hear about it, still don't quiet expect it.

It starts early, and it's a drive from the motels (in Oregon) - plan on eating at the match or make a plan.

The first year we were getting of the range at 9+ o'clock.. last year most of the shooters had been to (at least) one already - really hustled.. and we were done at 6. But you have to plan for the former. It was quiet a while before the rest of the shooters came back.

            Driving back..

Then cleaning everything.. unless you have a Benneli, then just cleaning 2.. lol

Finding somewhere that's still open to eat.. there's just not much time left.

One time we ate breakfast and dinner at Denny's - we had the same waitress.. she was in for her next shift already.

That area of Idaho and Oregon closes at 6:00pm. Don't plan on a late night out partying, the only place open after 6:00 was the Dennys. Even the pizza place closed early.

Be prepared to WORK, shooting and resetting a 100 round stage takes a bit of time. IIRC there is a 700 second max time a lots of guys don't finish the stage in that time.

Like BerKim said, you eat dinner at Denny at about 8:00pm and then breakfast the next morning at 5:30 and have the same waitress. Its a scarry.

I hear you can park your car at the side of the road... walk ten feet... kick at the dirt and potatoes will pop out of the dirt.

You can eat those potatoes raw for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

All you would then need is water.

For fun I hear the locals pick up the potatoes and throw them at cows.

                    You are probably right.

Chksh8me use to live around that area. He says its crazy humid from all the well pumpers irrigating the potato fields.

In fact I've heard that it's so humid that if you put a potato under your armpit it will come out baked after ten minutes. It will smell funny but I hear it comes out nice and tasty.

There's a half a dozen or so of the Pala crowd going.
I move slow but I make up for it by shooting poorly.

When I hit the lotto I'm only shooting factory.

That was an awesome match. IMHO the best match on the left coast.

                            ...Nor Cal kicked some a**.

...Ontario, OR smells just like Norco.

...that area of Idaho is onion country.

...saw a lot of cows, goats and horses. Didn't see any of the locals throwing potatoes or onions at them though.

...got out of the car and kicked at the dirt and potatoes did come flying out!!!

...that match was pretty scary. You had to climb up two structures that was 30-50 feet high. One of them was a slide about 25-30' up.

I heard somebody landed on their butt on the slide stage and had to be treated/taken away. Somebody also cut up their hand while going down the slide.

I went down that slide and crashed landed. I landed hard on my feet and pitched over and smacked my knees. I had to throw my elbow on the gravel to stop. Another member of my squad also went too fast down the slide and landed on his butt pretty hard.

                            That slide is a killer.

...one of the RO's suffered heat stroke or something and collapsed while our squad was on his stage. Another ambulance had to come and take him away.

I've never seen so many physical mishaps during a match.

But if you get a chance (and you ain't too scared )... GO!!!

                            Cal was representing.

Some footage of the So Cal/No Cal/Nevada squad.

Don't forget the guy that shot his finger with the MP5 or the RO from Virginia who got his hand in the clay pigeon trap.

I think there were at least 5 ambulance trips this year.
I burned my hand on the rope coming down the slide.
Next year I'm wearing a glove.
